Who is behind the network?

terre des hommes

terre des hommes is an international child rights organisation helping children in 31 countries. tdh seeks solutions when children live on the street, work under inhuman conditions or have to prostitute themselves, when a war has destroyed their health or their homes. tdh supports women, families and communities in caring for their children and helps young people building a future beyond violence, poverty and environmental destruction.

tdh supports local non-gouvernmental organisations instead of sending development aid workers. These project partners know what has to be done in order to improve the situation for children and Youth.

Whenever possible, children and youth are included in decision making processes. That's where our network comes into play.

Our History

Our network was founded during an international youth meeting in 2011. The idea came up because there have already been many youth activists before, partially connected in some regions, e.g. in Latin America. As we all fight for Children's rights and we face similar problems, we decided to get together in order to exert more pressure on policy makers and in order to get new ideas and motivation for new activities. Since then, we can look back to many highlights like:

  • participation with five youth delegates at the Rio+20 conference in Rio de Janeiro in 2012
  • the first youth delegate at the delegates conference of tdh (the delegates conference of tdh decides about campaigns and most important issues that tdh is working on) in 2013.
  • the Global Action Month (GAM) since 2014. All around the world, members of our network organise acitvities in the month of November.
